Concrete Driveway Contractor in Utah County, UT

Your driveway sets the tone for your property's curb appeal. When it's time to install or replace, you want a contractor who builds it right the first time.

Driveway Services We Provide

Rhode Concrete Corporation is a father-and-son concrete team serving homeowners across 19 cities in Utah County. Owner Bryce Jones personally works on every driveway project, from the initial site assessment through the final broom stroke. No subcontractors. No crew rotation. Just two people who stake their family name on every square foot of concrete they pour.

01New Driveway Installation

Full-scope installation: site grading, base compaction, formwork, reinforcement placement, concrete pouring, finishing, and control joint cutting. Bryce evaluates your soil conditions, drainage patterns, and vehicle load requirements before recommending thickness and reinforcement.

02Driveway Replacement

If your existing driveway has extensive cracking, heaving from tree roots, or settlement from Utah's expansive clay soils, replacement is often the better long-term investment. We remove the old concrete, re-evaluate the base, and pour a new surface engineered for the conditions at your property.

03Driveway Extensions & Widening

Need room for an additional vehicle, trailer, or RV? We pour extensions that match your existing driveway grade and finish. Proper bonding and joint placement ensure the new section performs as well as the original.

04Apron Connections

The section of driveway that connects to the street takes extra abuse from turning vehicles and snowplows. We pour driveway aprons with the proper thickness and slope to handle the transition between your driveway and the roadway.

How Much Does a Concrete Driveway Cost in Utah County?

Driveway pricing depends on three things: the size of the surface, the finish you choose, and the site conditions at your property. Below are typical 2026 price ranges for residential concrete driveways in the Utah County market.

Driveway Cost by Finish Type

Finish TypeCost / Sq Ft
Broom Finish$6 - $10
Colored Broom Finish$8 - $14
Stamped Concrete$12 - $20

Cost by Common Driveway Sizes

Driveway SizeBroom FinishStamped
10 x 20 ft (single car)$1,200 - $2,000$2,400 - $4,000
16 x 20 ft$1,920 - $3,200$3,840 - $6,400
20 x 20 ft (two car)$2,400 - $4,000$4,800 - $8,000
24 x 24 ft (wide two car)$3,456 - $5,760$6,912 - $11,520

Tear-out and removal of existing concrete adds $2 - $4 per square foot depending on thickness and reinforcement. Difficult site access may require concrete pumping, which adds to the total. These prices include base preparation, formwork, reinforcement, concrete, finishing, control joints, and cleanup. Your actual cost depends on site-specific conditions that Bryce evaluates during your free in-person estimate.

What Affects Your Driveway Cost

Thickness & Reinforcement

A standard 4-inch driveway with wire mesh costs less than a 5-6 inch slab with rebar. If you park heavy vehicles (trucks, RVs, trailers), the extra thickness is worth the investment.

Site Conditions & Access

Utah County's expansive clay soils are a major variable. Properties with poor drainage, clay-heavy subsoil, or significant grade changes need additional base preparation. Concrete pumping adds cost if access is limited.

Tear-Out & Removal

Replacing an old driveway adds $2 to $4 per square foot for demolition and hauling. A standard 400 sq ft driveway tear-out typically adds $800 to $1,600.

Finish Selection

Broom finish is the most affordable. Colored concrete adds moderate cost. Stamped concrete requires color hardener, stamping mats, detail work, and sealer application, making it the premium tier.

Season & Timing

Peak season (June-August) often carries slightly higher pricing. Shoulder seasons (April-May, September-October) may offer modest savings with ideal pouring conditions.

Concrete Driveway Finish Options

The finish you choose affects the look, grip, maintenance, and cost of your driveway. Rhode Concrete offers three primary categories.

Broom Finish

Broom Finish

The most popular and cost-effective option. A broom is dragged across freshly floated concrete to create a textured, slip-resistant surface. We offer light, medium, and heavy broom textures. Performs well in rain, snow, and ice.

Best for

Budget-conscious projects where durability and traction matter more than decorative appearance.

Stamped Concrete

Stamped Concrete

Patterns pressed into freshly poured concrete to replicate the look of natural stone, brick, slate, or other materials. Integral color or color hardener gives the surface its tone, and a protective sealer locks in the appearance.

Best for

Homeowners who want premium curb appeal and are willing to invest in a decorative finish.

Colored Broom Finish

Colored Broom Finish

A middle ground between plain broom finish and stamped concrete. Integral color is added to the concrete mix before pouring, giving the surface a uniform tone while maintaining the classic broom texture.

Best for

Homeowners who want more visual interest than plain gray but do not need a decorative pattern.

Our Driveway Installation Process

Bryce and his son handle everything themselves. You get consistent execution from day one through final cleanup.

01

Free In-Person Estimate

Bryce visits your property to assess soil conditions, drainage patterns, existing concrete, site access, and your project goals. You receive a detailed written proposal with scope, dimensions, finish type, timeline, and price.

02

Site Preparation

If replacing an existing driveway, we remove the old concrete and haul it away. We grade the subsoil, compact the base material, and establish the proper drainage slope so water moves away from your home and garage.

03

Formwork & Reinforcement

We build the forms to your exact dimensions, set the proper grade, and place wire mesh or rebar reinforcement. Standard driveways get 4-inch thickness. Heavy-use driveways get 5-6 inches.

04

Concrete Pour

We schedule the pour based on Utah County weather conditions, targeting temperatures above 40 degrees and rising. The concrete is placed, consolidated, and screeded to a uniform thickness.

05

Finishing

Once the surface is ready, we apply your chosen finish (broom, stamped, or colored). Control joints are cut at strategic intervals to manage where cracks form, keeping them in straight, planned lines.

06

Curing & Cleanup

We provide specific curing instructions based on the season and weather. Proper curing is essential for long-term strength. We clean up the job site and follow up to make sure you are satisfied.

Frequently Asked Questions
About Concrete Driveways

A 20x20 concrete driveway (400 square feet) typically costs $2,400 to $4,000 for broom finish and $4,800 to $8,000 for stamped concrete in the Utah County market. The final price depends on your site conditions, base preparation needs, and accessibility.
A properly installed concrete driveway lasts 25 to 30 years or more in Utah County when built with the right thickness, base preparation, and reinforcement. Proper control joint placement and adequate base compaction prevent premature cracking. Sealing the surface every 2-3 years also helps protect against moisture penetration and salt damage.
No. Two inches of concrete is not enough for any driveway application. The minimum recommended thickness for a residential driveway is 4 inches, and driveways that support heavier vehicles like trucks, RVs, or trailers should be 5-6 inches thick. A 2-inch slab will crack and fail under vehicle weight within months.
Standard broom finish concrete at $6 to $10 per square foot is the most cost-effective durable driveway material for Utah County homes. While gravel is cheaper upfront, it requires constant maintenance and does not provide the long-term value of concrete.
Most residential driveways in Utah County take 1 to 3 days from site preparation through final pour. Larger driveways or those requiring tear-out may take 3-5 days. Concrete needs to cure for at least 7 days before driving on it and 28 days to reach full strength.
Sealing is not required, but it is strongly recommended in Utah County. A quality penetrating sealer protects your driveway from moisture infiltration, which is the primary cause of freeze-thaw damage. We recommend sealing 30 days after the pour and every 2 to 3 years after that. For stamped concrete driveways, sealing is essential to maintain color vibrancy.
A 200 linear-foot driveway at 12 feet wide (2,400 square feet) would cost approximately $14,400 to $24,000 for broom finish and $28,800 to $48,000 for stamped concrete in Utah County. Longer driveways are common in Mapleton, Highland, Alpine, and rural areas. Projects of this size benefit from economies of scale.
A 100 linear-foot driveway at a standard 12 feet wide (1,200 square feet) would cost approximately $7,200 to $12,000 for broom finish and $14,400 to $24,000 for stamped concrete in Utah County. Longer driveways often qualify for better per-square-foot rates due to economies of scale on larger pours.
